In its heyday historic Manchester club The Hacienda hosted everyone from Gregory Isaacs to Trouble Funk to Cabaret Voltaire, who played there many times, including opening night in 1982 (with Joy Division). The live performance from 1983 on this LP was recorded soon after CV had signed with Some Bizarre/Virgin, and the songs featured that night are mostly from their just released Crackdown album.
