Originally released in 1968 by the International Artists label. An incomplete album tentatively titled "The Beauty And The Beast" that was released with a changed title after the band's demise. It's finest moments are "Never Another" (one of he best and most demented tracks ever recorded and the only one on the album written by the usual songwriting duo of Roky Erickson and Tommy Hall) and "May The Circle Remain Unbroken" (a haunting Roky's composition that may be the strangest thing this great band ever cut). Their classic and final album from 1982 is a touchstone of post-punk. With their edgy blend of post-punk, politics ans funk they were loved by critics and were cult heroes at the dawn of the 80s. Recorded with his road band the Whole World that featured Mike Oldfield on guitar, keysman David Bedford and Lol Coxhill on sax (who had been added to tour in support of Ayer's first solo LP Joy Of A Toy), this 1970 second solo album is a unique pop record hiding behind a prog rock mask. Franco Battiato's wonderfully lively 1973 concept album Pollution is an audaciously psychedelic album drawn from the space rock dimension with good portions of electronics and keyboard layers. Drawing heavily on the VCS3 synthesizer, Battiato and company (besides himself, three backing band members play synth as well) give Pollution an extreme electronic edge. With comparisons to Ash Ra Tempel, Faust, and Pink Floyd, Pollution was declared "genius" by Frank Zappa. Extremely influential on the '90s Chicago post-rock mafia. Original artwork.
